Keep your images. Keep your dignity.

1. The short version
SLOP ROASTED does not require an account and does not intentionally upload the images or video you add to the cover machine. Your media is processed in your browser. Some optional features contact third parties, as described below.
2. Media you add
Images and video selected from your device are loaded into browser memory so the app can render your cover. We do not intentionally send those local files to our servers. They are normally cleared when you reload or close the page. If you paste a remote image URL, your browser contacts that source to retrieve it, and the source may receive your IP address and request information.
3. Text and AI cover lines
If you use the “Write cover lines for me” feature, the magazine name and prompt text you enter may be sent to Anthropic to generate suggestions. If that service is unavailable, the app creates lines locally instead. Do not enter confidential, sensitive, or personal information into that feature.
4. Analytics and basic technical data
We use Google Analytics to understand visits and broad use of the cover machine. It may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device details, referral source, and interactions including uploads initiated, randomizations, selected effects, exports, downloads, and shares. Analytics events do not intentionally include your uploaded media, masthead, or cover text. Google processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Our hosting provider, Netlify, may also process standard server-log information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, requested URLs, timestamps, and security events. We use this infrastructure to deliver and protect the site.
5. Fonts, sharing, and other services
- Google Fonts may receive request and device information when fonts load.
- Google Analytics may receive usage, device, referral, and interaction information.
- Anthropic may process text submitted through the optional cover-line feature.
- Your browser or operating system handles native file sharing when you choose to share an export.
- Third-party image hosts receive requests when you ask the app to load their URLs.
Each third party handles information under its own privacy policy.
6. Cookies, accounts, and payments
Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser technologies to distinguish visits and measure site use. SLOP ROASTED does not currently provide user accounts, accept payments, or run advertising pixels. Your browser settings or privacy tools may let you limit analytics storage.
7. Retention
We do not maintain a user library of the media you load into the app. Hosting and third-party providers may retain technical logs or submitted text according to their own policies and legal obligations.
8. Your choices
You can avoid the optional AI feature, avoid remote image URLs, block third-party fonts, clear your browser data, or stop using the service. You may contact us to ask about personal information we control.
9. Children
SLOP ROASTED is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above shows the latest revision.
